Snocap Store on Lander’s mySpace
Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007It is no secret that mySpace is a lead generating machine. It has always been a great vehicle for corralling music lovers and allowing them to listen to loads of indie music, but now, Snocap has found a way to help those browsers actually buy your music directly from your mySpace page! I got a call from CD Baby today and they asked if they could help me install a Snocap store-front to the Lander mySpace page as a BETA for the Snocap/mySpace integration. Of course, I agreed and now the Snocap store is up and running and prime for sales and Lander exposure. Click here or on the image above to check out the Lander Snocap store on our mySpace page!
Visiting the Popo Agie
Monday, August 20th, 2007Sifting through the pictures from my trip to Wyoming, I found this beautiful shot of the Popo Agie River. The Popo Agie is a small river that runs through the middle of Lander, WY and I had the opportunity to wade my feet in the water and sit on the shore like I use to as a child. This time, I repeated the lyrics of my song Popo Agie to myself while I sat in the place of its inspiration. I guess I wanted to relive the days and see how accurate my words were in relation to the actual. See for yourself:
POPO AGIE
by tyler stenson
I can feel the Lander wind,
Coming up beneath me again.
But to the north there are billionaires
That lay between the millionaires and
Their buildings stretch to touch the sky
In the bigger world on the other side of the middle-
of Popo Agie.
Running down the crooked miles,
I could feel the muscles tire.
I could bend my tongue and sing
The words of Pioneers
(They’re coming up between my teeth).
And all at once their melodies
Turn to fields of industry and
The California air to black
So the movie stars are moving back to the middle-
to Popo Agie.
These are places,
Western spaces and
I go back there just to taste it.
Feel a warm night,
Mixed with fireflies
Where I can feel the Lander wind
Coming up beneath me again.
POPO AGIE live at ORMF 2006 (the 2007 recording is on the way!)

ORMF 2007 – Saturday Set List
Thursday, August 16th, 2007
We were really excited to be offered two days at this year’s Oyster Ridge Music Festival in Kemmerer, WY. Last year we debuted on a Sunday afternoon but this year we were honored to be placed on Friday and Saturday’s stage. We didn’t want our two sets to be redundant, so we purposefully saved a lot of our best material for the second day of the festival. Friday was fun but the set list on Saturday was strong all the way through and filled with the best we had to offer. Take a look at the image above… this is the actual set list that we crafted in the minutes leading up to our second performance at ORMF 2007.
Concert Connect Autism Fundraiser
Wednesday, August 8th, 2007On July 22nd we were honored to play at the McMenamins Kennedy School Concert Connect Fundraiser for Autism. Oregon has the highest Autistic rating in the entire country so it is important to have awareness events such as these to raise money for the cause and support the organizations that are working to fight this disease. Lander was one of nine bands that performed that day for the cause and we were glad to do our part for the organization and meet a lot of really great people and volunteers in the process.
3 Great Songwriters, TONIGHT!
Thursday, August 2nd, 2007Join 3 great Portland Songwriters tonight at Mississippi Studios, PDX for a classic Songwriters in the Round – 8pm.
Breanna Paletta
tyler stenson of lander
Matt Vrba
For those of you that have never seen a Writers in the Round, essentially, 3 songwriters are on stage for the full show. Each writer plays an original song, every third song… one after another, after another, after another, etc. It is a great way to see 3 shows in 1 and expose yourself to new writers that you wouldn’t have seen before.
I’ll be one of three performing tonight with Breanna Paletta and Matt Vrba. They are very talented and I’m excited to be a part of the set. Please join us at 8pm and tell your friends. Hope to see you there!
