Introducing My New Album Websites
Thursday, October 13th, 2011In an effort to fully jump into the nerdy end of the pool, I’ve recently purchased unique urls and built dedicated websites for the three albums that I’m endlessly promoting. Ladies and gentlemen, introducing my new album websites:
BittersweetParade.com
LongBeforeTheWheel.com
AnotherGleam.com
The goal was to make them simple and standard. There’s nothing too fancy about any of them but my hope is that it gives people another place to learn about the various records that I’ve created and who knows, maybe even buy a copy or three.
Another TylerStenson.com Update
Friday, October 7th, 2011As everyone knows, I have a strand of OCD coursing through my veins that is borderline clinical. Yeah, I don’t really sleep at night because I can’t put aside the fact that a margin is off on my blog or the font could be improved on my website(s) — there’s always something that can be improved.
Well, with that, I bring you the newest TylerStenson.com. The changes are ever so subtle but I slept pretty well last night…
THE NEW SITE:
As I mentioned, the changes are very subtle but I feel it’s a lot cleaner overall. You’ll notice a new custom font installed, new and improved social icons, a new music and video player and a sleeker vibe across the board. Click on the image below to see the full size screen shot!
THE NEW HEADER:
I moved the header from mid-page, up toward the top where most sites would have them featured. Additionally, I changed the font to match my new custom font (Round Up). To me, this new header is much more pro and a bit less playful than my previous site.
THE NEW SOCIAL ICONS:
Most subtle of all but to my everlasting joy, is the new, custom, social icons. The ones before were slightly pixelated and more in tune with the previously playful vibe, however, now, they’re spic-and-span. I suppose most notable of all is the fact that I kicked the mySpace button to the curb and replaced it with my ReverbNation link. Peace out mySpace!
THE NEW FONT:
I’ve been using this new font for some time now in my general branding but I’ve finally integrated it into my website. With the help of my good friend Mr Diggles, I’m now able to use my brand’s font as a font, rather than an image. This is a very subtle upgrade but extremely valuable in the realm of web design.
Of course, there will be more subtle changes happening to this site for the rest of my life but, on this day in October, I’m proud to bring you another TylerStenson.com update with some improved pieces that have me sleeping soundly.
The Best Web Hosting
Tuesday, April 5th, 2011You may or may not know it, but outside of my musical endeavors, I’m kind of a web nerd on the side. Yep, I build websites to stay afloat while I pursue music as a career and it has been kind to me for the most part. As one of my proudest projects, I launched TylerStenson.com about 4 years ago and it has been a labor of love ever since.
While most people go to Go Daddy for their urls and web hosting, from day one, I’m proud to say I’ve used BlueHost.com for all of my web hosting and they’ve really truly never disappointed. I call them the hostest with the mostest.
DISCLOSURE: I am an affiliate of Bluehost. I am compensated for referrals.
I woke to find that my site was down the other day and after giving them a phone call, I found that my IP address had randomly decided to change. We’re not exactly sure what happened but the guys on the other line at BlueHost were extremely knowledgeable and helped me figure out my web woes.
Call it an endorsement but BlueHost.com is the best web hosting option out there. They’ve served me kindly for 4 years and at under $7 per month, I’ll be with them for many more. Thank you BlueHost for all that you do!!

Introducing StepheniElli.com
Saturday, May 22nd, 2010I recently designed a website for Stepheni Elli, a Nashville based singer-songwriter in the folkrock genre. Although I’m not an expert web designer by any means, I’ve been making a living these days by “flipping the code” that I use for my website and tweaking it to the client’s liking. It’s something I can do relatively quickly and at a very low cost to my friends and fellow singer-songwriters.
Below is just a snapshot of Stepheni’s new website, if you’re interested in having me make one for you, send me an email here. Thanks!
Happy 2010: New Year, New Website
Friday, January 1st, 2010Happy New Year, happy New Decade!!! I rang in the New Year last night at a house party in my new city and was proud to have some good friends to share the experience with. Though it was an innocent New Year’s peck, I even got my first kiss in Nashville:)
With the change of the calendar and my new album in hand, I’ve decided to give my website a face-lift. You’ll notice the function is the same but I wanted a new website to reflect the Bittersweet Parade vibe. You can visit the new website by clicking here or on the image below.
Happy New Year one and all – may it be better than the last.
