Spinning Me

by tyler stenson © 2007

Look up in the air...
All the world is circled
By a night that is beautiful-
Pretty stars against pretty purple.
If I am the ocean, you are the moon
And my waves are just some gravity turning
Because the moon is spinning me.

If I had a coin,
It tumbled down the wishing well
But my plans have worked out just as well
As a broken Carousel.
I tried to rise up high to find you-
I was following your lead-
But got caught up in a tail spin
Because the spiral that you lead is spinning me.

You have been spinning me.
Until I don't know what's the front and what's the back.
Until I don't know what's the back and what's the front.

Put me in my place-
Make sure that I can't move
Because I have found that all the brightest things
Appear dim compared to you and I am tired of spinning.
I am spinning because you laugh at everything
And you can't help that your smile is spinning me.

Until I don't know what's the front and what's the back.
Until I don't know what's the front and what's the back.
Until I don't know what's the back and what's the front.
