Stand Around

She calls me up when I’m blue
Just to tell me, I’ve been feeling that way too.
She always ends with these apologies
But I’m happy when she remembers me
And calls with her complaints.

You talk too soft so turn it up.
I can listen and you’re never going to fade away.
We were closer back then.
What I’ve got to do
Is stop and wait for you
To call with your complaints-
We’ll never fade away.

Stop acting like you’ve got nothing to do
But stand around.
We can listen and never say goodbye
But we both know you’ve got to go.

Kerry sits in a place of her own
If she’s happy, I’m happy-
That’s all I know.
But man, I’ve been gone for way too long.
If I’m happy she’ll stay happy
And we’ll keep moving on
And I’ll still call with my complaints.

If she’s happy, I’ll be happy
And that’s really all I need so I can feel well.

Stop acting like you’ve got nothing to do
But stand around.
It’s late Sunday Evening
And we’re going to have to say goodbye
And we both know you’ve got to go.

I’ll settle where I stand-
I call this Home.
I’ll lay down where I lie
And call myself alone.
