Too Late, Tonight

If the situation vows to never go away
Then I guess I ask for a cheap imitation
Of the smile I use to get from you-
It was the prettiest part of you.

Last year’s laughter left with the fall
And this year’s winter could burry us all
And it could take away the sunshine-
She looked pretty in sunshine.

Don’t you know-
She use to glow like a star in a show.

I fear it’s too late, tonight to drive
You should leave with the daylight.
Stay here- stay by my side because
It’s too late, tonight to drive.

From long-time lover to turn-quick enemy,
If you’re just staying to keep me company,
I can do it all alone-
I do it all the time alone.

But the night time is coming to take you away
And paint your silhouette up against the gray
Of the backdrop of our memory-
Memories that nobody wants but me.

That sounds like me-
To hold on endlessly.

I fear it’s too late, tonight to drive
You should leave with the daylight.
Stay here- stay by my side because
It’s too late, tonight to drive away.
