What I Feel Like as Winter Comes

It looks like a battle field;
This October sun has lost its appeal
And as it disappeared,
The summer solstice became cigarette light.

It looks like the end of the world
And the gold leaves curl and brace for the Apocalypse
At the end of days-
(When that sky turns to gray from what use to be neon).

What I feel like as winter comes;
I feel the need for summer
Because those days are leaving us one by one.
What I feel like as winter comes;
I’m like a secret lover whispering,
Sunshine, can I see you again?
And no one is answering.

It looks like it’s here to stay-
Please, go away!
All you’ve brought us here is a misery filled darker day-
That sky has been gray (for what feels like decades).

What I feel like as winter comes;
I feel the need for summer
Because those days are leaving us one by one.
What I feel like as winter comes;
I’m like a secret lover whispering,
Sunshine, can I see you again?
And no one is answering.

All I’d give just to see you again…
Please, break through the clouds and come in.
