OK, I realize the guidelines of this Guitar Center contest have been slightly confusing so, in an effort to clarify and rally tough, here is the bullet-pointed gist:
• It’s all about the number of video views at http://bit.ly/197dw6t
• Unfortunately, videos cannot be viewed on mobile devices.
• Fortunately, videos can be viewed from multiple computers.
• It’s a 10-week competition (ending Nov 9th).
• Top-10 from each week auto-advance to a Top-100.
• At the end, judges will sift through Top-100 and pick their “favorite” Final-10.
• These Final-10 will go to L.A. to compete in a live competition.
THE GRAND PRIZE:
$25,000 cash, a chance to record an EP with legendary producer Don Was (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, etc) and all kinds of musical gear. All kinds.
MY APPROACH / MY REASONING:
Despite the fact that the Final-10 is somewhat objective, I figure if I race up the charts and stay there, placing in the Top-10 for multiple weeks, my case (to be included in the Final-10) will be undeniable. Yes, at this point, I’m in the Top-100 automatically and guaranteed to be listened to by the judges buuuut we’re going for style points now … so PLEASE keep at it.
