eROI, a prominent digital marketing agency in Portland, recently asked me to contribute to their Why Moment project — a collection of introspective blurbs from various “thought-leaders” that each effectively illustrate the tipping point in their respective endeavors.
Coincidentally, this was a question I had already asked myself many times:
WHY are you doing this?
WHY are you putting yourself through this?
WHAT needs to change?
I knew I didn’t want to quit, but I knew it couldn’t stay the same. Though this same internal debate takes place in my song My Love, My Love, a solution finally found its way to the surface in the images below. Quality over quantity was the answer.
Safe to say, stopping to ask the question “why” was monumental in the progression of my career. It caused me to stop, disrupt my comfort zone, readjust, evolve and ultimately to change directions – upward, rather than blindly ahead.
