Music & Lyrics by Tyler Stenson © 2004 — ASCAP
I’ve got little things —
All the little tendencies
That keep me behind.I’ve got memories —
All the pieces that make up me —
Distant memories
That are stuck to the ceiling
And hanging above my head.Lately, I dream I’m on fire.
She’s seen everything —
All the times when I’m drunk and rambling —
She’s seen the worst part of me!I would take it back if I could
(Just to make her feel good again),
But this place is so cold,
And I need to get warm again.Lately, I dream I’m on fire,
Drowning in tears that I cry.I don’t tell anyone I cry.
Take me Home to a sunnier sky.Take me Home where I lay down goodnight.

My memories are a series of backyard cul-de-sacs
That smell of fresh-cut grass and juniper.
Wyoming sunsets burned
And crickets sang their hearts as the sky turned orange,
And mother called us in from the day.In one particular backyard,
Sat a stagnant John Deer tractor that remained
Green all year round
As it rested quietly in the shade
Of the Bellevue Alley shrubbery
(No more than ten feet from the fence line).A Younger Me could turn the ruins of
Once-Great Machines into a dream. This useless tractor was fully functional
In the eyes of a younger me —
Those eyes saw fearlessly a cowboy,
With buckles, leather, mouths to feed,
And dried-up fields that desperately
Need a farmer’s touch.A Younger Me could go and do great things in the shade,
While the rest of the yard was green —
How it glistened in the sunlight.Lisa, please watch over me,
Write it down in your memory that I —
I was a child lost in a daydream. She would say Only boring people get bored.
So, today, I’ll be plowing a field
And corralling cattle before the dust storm.
Disintegrating are the chances for our lunch break —
There is too much work to be done today
And the cattle won’t milk themselves. -

Best-laid plans fail,
And wrong winds catch sails,
But that don’t mean you lay down
And lose your boat to the treacherous sea.
No, you must believe:
What might have been, can yet still be.I’ve seen a beautiful sky turn gray
As I stood by watching weather change,
But that don’t mean the sun is long-gone
And all of our Hope should leave.
No, you must believe:
What might have been, can yet still be.The greatest place ever known fell down —
It was the Fall of Rome —
But I’ve seen the Vatican and Coliseum
Under a summer’s gleam
(And it was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen).
So, I’m telling you,
What might have been, can yet still be.Those best-laid plans fail,
And those wrong winds catch sails,
But that don’t mean you lay down
And lose your boat to the treacherous sea.No, you must believe:
What might have been, can yet still be. -

An interesting man I know
Has the Music in his bones.
He writes the songs
But he can’t stand rock n’ roll.
His name is On His Right Hand
As he hides behind a wall —
Somebody’s gonna make it,
But you know it better be us all.Older brother,
He’s the dreamer of some dreams.
He stretched out the gray and made it green.
I can see myself in him
(I’m just a little bit too small).
Somebody’s gonna make it,
But you know it better be us all.Little brother,
You are not the only one —
Just don’t get burned in the Oklahoma sun.
You’re trying to get to heaven,
And I’m just trying not to fall.
Somebody’s gonna make it,
But you know it better be us all.I’m a music maker,
Trying to make a dream,
But getting there is as endless as it seems!
So, I’m gone to California
(Even if I have to crawl)
Because somebody’s gonna make it,
But you know it better be us all.So, when I get to California,
I’ll be giving you a call
Because somebody’s gonna make it,
But you know it better be us all. -

Heaven knows I’d wait to feel another breeze,
And to lie beneath another sun
Deep down in your love.Big Hearts are filling up the hemispheres.
Big Hearts are warming up the coldest years.
They’ll lie beside me forever more
Because Big Hearts make mine grow. It’s growing every day,
And softly resting miles away.
I swear Heaven was exploding there;
It was filling up the air.Big Hearts are filling up the hemispheres.
Big Hearts are warming up the coldest years.
They’ll lie beside me forever more
Because Big Hearts make mine grow.Big Hearts are full moons and Northern Lights.
They come full circle.
They defy science!
Big Hearts are freight trains that push me along.
They hold onto the tracks even when the wind is strong.
Big Hearts are factories of Godlight Beams
That get brighter as the daylight completely recedes. -

It's a sign:
One sign of one temperature rise.
It spreads across your face,
And in an instant, you know what love is like. When the skin colors crimson and rose,
And it burns your eyes,
As it crawls on your face
In disguise as this thing called Blush.Underneath our clothes,
We are just heart and bone.
The rest is empty space —
But, we can fill it,
When from the inside, we grow like butterflies. And the skin colors crimson and rose,
And it burns your eyes,
As it crawls on your face
In disguise as this thing called Blush.Don’t rush me now.
I could stay this way all day. It’s all on your skin!
When it colors crimson and rose,
And it burns your eyes,
As it crawls on your face
In disguise as this thing
That comes up rushing love to the head.
It’s nothing more than proof we’re alive,
We are in orbit,
And with blood-red cheeks,
I could break at the seams
And the insides of me
Could float on above everything. -
